Chapter 01
Pick the right model
Match the model to your usage, not your budget. The 13 and 14 still get the latest iOS and handle modern apps comfortably. Pro models pay off only if you use the camera or display heavily.
Buying Guide
A short, opinionated walkthrough for first-time and returning buyers in India.
Chapter 01
Match the model to your usage, not your budget. The 13 and 14 still get the latest iOS and handle modern apps comfortably. Pro models pay off only if you use the camera or display heavily.
Chapter 02
128 GB suits most people. Go 256 if you shoot a lot of 4K video, screen-record, or keep games installed. Storage cannot be upgraded later, so do not skimp the way you would on a laptop.
Chapter 03
Unboxed: sealed but opened, like-new. Excellent: no visible wear. Good: minor scuffs but no functional issues. Fair: visible wear, fully working. Anything below Fair is a project, not a daily driver.
Chapter 04
Aim for 85%+ for daily use. 80–84% is fine for a budget pick. Below 80%, factor in a battery replacement (₹4,000–₹6,000 at Apple) into the price you are paying.
Chapter 05
Always check IMEI on Apple's coverage page (it confirms genuine + warranty status), Find My is turned off, and the device is signed out of the previous Apple ID. No exceptions.
Chapter 06
Specialised refurbished sellers (Cashify, Apple Refurb) for warranty peace of mind. Large marketplaces (Amazon Renewed, Flipkart 2GUD) for return windows. Peer-to-peer (OLX, Quikr) for the lowest prices, but only with a meet-in-person check.
Chapter 07
Sellers who refuse to share IMEI, listings with prices well below the market floor, "no return" policies on platforms that normally offer them, and any pressure to pay outside the platform. Walk away.
